Businesses in Lloyds Court, Manor Royal, have come together to fund and install a new publicly accessible defibrillator, helping to make the business district a safer place for employees, visitors and the wider community.
The initiative was spearheaded by Alan Rogers of Lamonde Automation after he discovered that the nearest publicly available defibrillator was almost half a mile away.
Recognising the importance of rapid access to life-saving equipment during a cardiac emergency, Alan canvassed neighbouring businesses in Lloyds Court to gauge support for the project.
The response was overwhelmingly positive, with businesses across Lloyds Court backing the idea and contributing towards making it a reality.
Thanks to the collective efforts of SC Parts, Vindex Systems, Fixio, HHV, Cornilleau, The Real Pizza Company, Fastsigns Crawley, Moore Industries and Lamonde Automation, together with support from landlords Croudace Properties, the new defibrillator has now been installed on the exterior of Cornilleau’s premises (Unit 4) in Lloyds Court. The unit is available 24 hours a day for use in an emergency.
The installation provides a vital addition to the area's emergency response infrastructure, significantly reducing the distance to the nearest publicly accessible defibrillator and potentially helping to save lives.

We hope it's never needed, but if it is, it's now here for everyone in the community."
Defibrillators can dramatically improve survival rates following an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest when used quickly alongside CPR. The new Lloyds Court defibrillator is registered on The Circuit – Defib Finder, making it easy for emergency services and members of the public to locate it when every second counts.
The project demonstrates the strong community spirit that exists across Manor Royal, with businesses working together to improve safety and wellbeing for everyone who works in, visits or passes through one of the UK's largest mixed-use business districts.
