Seasoned hospitality leader Franklin Martins joins one of the newest and most exciting hotels in the Gatwick corridor, bringing an outstanding international track record to the helm.

Ibis Styles London Gatwick Airport, in Manor Royal, is proud to announce the appointment of Mr. Franklin Martins as its new General Manager. A seasoned and dynamic leader with an impressive portfolio spanning luxury and economy hotels across regional and international markets, Mr Martins arrives with a proven reputation for transforming hotels and elevating guest experiences.

Most recently, Mr Martins served as General Manager of ibis Hotel Aberdeen and, concurrently, as Combo General Manager of ibis Aberdeen and ibis Budget Belfast — a demanding dual-market role that saw him lead two distinctly different properties with great success. Prior to his time in Scotland and Northern Ireland, he held the position of Combo General Manager at the Golden Sands Hotel in Dubai. At every hotel he has led, Mr Martins has left a lasting legacy of transformation, operational excellence and team empowerment.

Franklin Martins, General Manager, ibis Styles London Gatwick Airport, said:

"I am genuinely excited to lead ibis Styles London Gatwick Airport. We have a stunning hotel with world-class facilities, and I am very much looking forward to welcoming local businesses, whether for a familiarity tour, afternoon teas, or simply a nice catch-up over a coffee."

Opened in 2024 following a £16 million full renovation, ibis Styles London Gatwick Airport is one of the freshest and most exciting additions to the Gatwick accommodation market. The 182-room hotel offers an impressive array of facilities designed to cater to every type of guest, from leisure travellers and airline crew to corporate visitors and local businesses.

The property features beautifully furnished Crew rooms and a dedicated Crew lounge, a fully equipped gym, versatile meeting space, a 24-hour restaurant and bar, and the hotel’s hallmark: quirky, tastefully designed modern rooms that make every stay memorable. The hotel has also been built to meet every Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) standard, reflecting Accor’s commitment to sustainable and responsible hospitality.

With Mr Martins at the helm, ibis Styles London Gatwick Airport is poised to become a destination in its own right, not just a hotel near an airport, but a vibrant hub for the local community and business network. His ambition and warmth of welcome signal an exciting new chapter for the property and all who walk through its doors.
